Tobias Wong, also known as Toby, has for many years been a great inspiration to many of us.

He balanced on the thing line between art and design, and was one of the first to do purely ‘conceptual’ product design.

“If you have ever read the book ‘Objects to desire’, you would immediately fell in love with the gold-plated McDonalds spoon. But it was fascinating how he used design and objects to make a social comment. Tobias Wong died of suicide the 30th of May. We hope his conceptual thoughts of design will live on, and influence other to use design as a platform for expressions and communication”.

Design is a good idea love collaboration.

Every month, we will feature a new splash page on our website, and we would like to invite other designers, artists, illustrators, etc… to make a splash for us.

Your work will be featured on the front of the site for the whole month, and we will also archive all the splash page designs in the Collaborations section of our site, and post them in our Some things are priceless blog so that they can be viewed at any time.

If you would like to contribute a splash page, or if you have any other collaborative ideas, please either contact qz@designisagoodidea.com for further information.

Requirements:

1. 1200 x 800 pixel

2. ‘Design is a good idea’ need to be on your piece

3. Final draft must be submitted by one week before you assigned month.
